Investors have convened to explore new opportunities in South Sudan.

The event was opened by the President Salva Kiir. Also in attendance were the National Ministers, states’ government officials, and Diplomats.

Finance Minister Aggrey Tisa said that at least 500 participants both domestic and foreign investors are currently attending the conference including fifty five business leaders in the country and forty four others from different countries in the world.

“This forum is aimed at promoting sustained economic growth and poverty alleviation,” Tisa said.

He assured the investors of fully controlled security in the country, noting that, the insecurity taking place currently is part of the challenges facing the new nation and government is focused in wiping it out.

He also assured the investors of full financial security and guarantee by the government.

The United Nations Head in South Sudan, Hilde F. Johnson, however called for government to put in place all wanted legal frameworks that can boost investment in the country.

She spelt out the instatement of microeconomic tools in place, and government to ensure rules and laws in the country are fully respected.
