“I blame all the criminals who have taken advantage of the situation. If you just kill people in my name, then my image will be gone,” Kiir said as he was addressing the diplomatic corps in Juba on Wednesday.

“If you do it also on the side of Riek Machar, then you are burying us alive. Politically, we will not surface as good leaders in South Sudan, and so it is better that people forgive one another.

“If you are from Dinka, whatever Dinka you come from, it will be your own crime that you will have to be charged for.”

During the briefing, President Salva Kiir Mayardit called upon his former vice president Riek Machar Teny to renounce violence and return to partake in rebuilding the country.

“We will continue to march forward – I therefore still call upon Riek Machar and his group to lay down their weapons and came back to participate in the building of our new nation. Riek Machar has shown his reasoning by a nose of a gun, he should now learn that this thing is not possible,” said Kiir

According to the president, there will be reforms in Anti-Corruption Commission, Judiciary and ministries in a few days, SPLM leadership will also look into its structures as well the national army.
