The Episcopal Church of South Sudan and the committee for peace and Reconciliation that launched a peace campaign for Lakes States on Tuesday in Juba are in Rumbek East County after preaching in Awerial County, Greater Yirol West and Yirol East Counties.

Bishop Daniel Bul said that the campaign that started in Juba has shown that the people of South Sudanyearn for peace and reconciliation.

“The Public in all counties that we have preached for peace and reconciliation are happy; the public needs peace and justice. They need security and forgiveness – the peoples of God should accept the peace slogan and to preach unity among themselves.” Said bishop Bul

Bishop Deng said that the church rally will be held on Thursday in Rumbek East County on Thursday and called upon all politicians and the public to attend as they open their hearts to reconciliation and peace.

While at the Maborduang village rally today, Bishop Deng said that forgiveness is paramount in attaining peace.

“Forgiveness is always the right direction to a better life. Peace and reconciliation must start within your heart. You have to tell each other that you are sorry for the mistake you have done and God will forgive you.”
