Flood itemsThe data which was released by the Government indicated that the annual rate of inflation in the food variety decreased slightly in the fourth week of August but on the other hand inflation in the fuel group stayed fixed, as it was reported on Thursday.

The inflation, as the sources say, in the Food Articles group slips to 9.55% in the week which ended on August 27, from 10.05% in the preceding week, the Commerce & Industry Ministry affirmed in a declaration. It was at 14.76% in the consequent time of previous year.

It was observed that the rate of price rise of almost all the food items slips to a single-digit in the duration of the week under review from a five-month high of 10.05% in the preceding seven-day’s times.

Pranab Mukherjee, the Finance Minister showed a good hope that food prices will fall more following the celebratory period, even as Mukherjee highlighted a positive concern over the lofty prices of non-food and fuel products and certain related items. In New Delhi, Mukherjee talked to the reporters and said: "During the festive season, there will be some fluctuation (in food prices). But after that, moderating influence will continue".

According to the data given by the government we see wheat became quite cheaper by 1.04 per cent during the week under review and side by side the prices of pulses fell by 1.56 per cent year-on-year, as the data showed.
