The Jammu and Kashmir Police and the NIA charged two students who were identified, according to sources, as Abid Hussain and Shariq Ahmed; these students supposedly sent the email to media houses in Delhi which claimed that the Harkat-ul-Jihad Islami was guilty of the attack.
This is the first arrest in the Delhi High Court blast case as the NIA and the Jammu and Kashmir Police have been very active to find the proofs. According to the sources these two students were form Kishtwar with criminal conspiracy as regards to the Delhi High Court blast case.
In order to question these students the authorities detained them six days ago. According to the Section 120 (B) of the IPC (criminal conspiracy) and also under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act these students were under arrest.
R K Singh, Union Home Secretary, said there were clues and accordingly arrests had been made, as he was asked about progress in the case. In New Delhi, Singh said “Some people have been arrested.” “But we do not want to disclose whatever progress we have made as it will hamper the investigation.”
According to the sources, these two 11 grade students do not have any criminal or militancy related record Abid and Shariq are both from Islamia Faridia Higher Secondary School at Kishtwar. However, the police in Jammu refused to give their details.
