Mahipal Maderna a minister from Rajasthan who was charged in the puzzling vanishing of a nurse has been shown the door by the cabinet.
He is charged with “rape leading to murder”, but the minister insists that he is innocent.
After immense pressure on his government from the public and Rajasthan high court, who even accused them of acting “hand in glove” to somehow save the controversial minister, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot gave orders for Maderna’s sacking.
The government nurse named Bhanwari Devi disappeared on 1st September. Mahipal Maderna was charged following the release of a video CD showing him getting notoriously close to the nurse.
The husband of the missing nurse has told the media that his wife was abducted on the orders of ex minister Maderna and his close co-conspirators. There are also reports that the disgraced minister had an affair with Bhanwari Devi and the released CD is proof of that as it shows him being in a compromising position with her.
Dr Chanderbhan, Rajasthan Congress President said “Congress is a party that has a strong base in all communities and the Janta are very much with our party. This is a criminal case and it will have no effect on any community supporting or opposing our party”
