Following our story yesterday about the anticipated meeting between Anna Hazare’s close alley and Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, we would like to bring an update that Anna Hazare has reportedly called his men back as he thought the meeting had turned controversial even before it started.
Anna Hazare’s group members that headed to the capital of the country included his personal assistant Suresh Pathare, sarpanch of Anna’s village Ralegan Siddhi Jaisingrao Mapari, and Yadavbaba Vidyalaya School principal Ramdas Ugale. They all reached New Delhi on Monday only after being told that their meeting with Rahul Gandhi has been fixed at 9am on Tuesday, but much to their surprise Congress MP from Kerala PT Thomas said that though a request was made, there was no such meeting scheduled
Later PT Thomas came forward and admitted that the whole confusion was caused because of miscommunication from his office and he held himself responsible too for the embarrassment caused to Anna Hazare’s men, but it proved too little too late as this whole episode had greatly upset Anna Hazare and his aides.
Anna Hazare’s visiting group later told the media that they will now only meet Mr. Rahul Gandhi if he personally invites them.
