After Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s (PTI) official Facebook pages got hacked on Friday, the technology-prone political party arranged for back up.

Arsalan Ghumman, the President of Insaaf Student Federation in Karachi, spoke to the media explaining that the party has arranged for back up of their Facebook pages and activities. PTI has been known for interaction with the general public through Facebook. Other political parties such as PML-N have also followed the Facebook campaign trend to gain popularity with the youth.

“We immediately contacted the National Response Cell on Cyber Crime, a department of the Federal Investigation Agency, as well as the management of Facebook in the US. The pages were put back up at around 5am on Monday after hectic efforts by party members in the US and Pakistan”, said Ghumman.

He further explained that the delay was only due to the fact that it was a weekend in the United States; therefore, it was a bit difficult to get in touch with the concerned people. However, due to the popularity of PTI in the United States as well, the issue got resolved despite being a weekend.

News declared on Friday that about 30 pages of PTI members including the chief of PTI Imran Khan, the official party page, and the page of Dr. Arif Alvi General Sectretary of PTI were hacked. The misfortune pushed the PTI members to get back up for their data.
