Visas to the counsel of Hussain Haqqani have been issued on Tuesday morning when the video recording of the statement of Hussain Haqqani is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Wednesday 22nd February 2012.
Until Monday, Zahid Bukhari and his team were facing the problem of not having visas to travel to London to be present at the time Hussian Haqqani records his statement before the commission in Pakistan. Officers at Pakistan High Commission in the United Kingdom announced on Tuesday that the visas have been issued for the lawyer for Hussain Haqqani, Mr. Zahid Bukhari and his other team members.
Mr. Bukhari acknowledged the receipt of visa and said that he plans to take two assistants with him to observe in person the statement of Hussain Haqqani and facilitate the process of questioning between the two parties, whereas two of his assistants will work from Pakistan and sit with the team in Pakistan at the High Court at the time of video link recording.
He further spoke to the media and said that he was informed about the visa just now and will take some time to make preparations and arrangement to reach London before the video link statement starts. A trial check has already been conducted to make sure there are no disruptions in communication at the time of statement recording.
