5 killed, 15 wounded in a blast in Noshera

A blast hit the city of Noshera on Monday where Awami National Party (ANP) carried out a general meeting. The intended target of the blast can be inferred to be the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and his other cabinet members. Fortunately, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtoonkha, Ameer Haider Hotti remained safe since he landed and took off in the helicopter against his schedule.

As per initial investigations, the blast was installed on a motorbike and a remote control device was used to trigger it. The incident took place at the main road outside after the meeting was adjourned. As of now, the death roll has reached 5 whereas the incident has injured about 15 which include 4 members of the police force as well. Paramedics and rescue teams were called on the location instantly. Victims have been taken to District Headquarter Hospital and other nearby hospitals for treatment. Five have been declared by the doctors to be in critical condition.

Police authorities arrived at the scene in no time to take situation under control. The crime scene has been marked and sealed for investigation team to carry out their procedure for further details.

Police informed the media that approximately 3 kilograms of explosives were used to carry out the activity.
