The Office of Foreign Affairs Pakistan announced on Friday that the trade relationship between India and Pakistan will not backside the issue of Kashmir at any cost.

Spokesperson of Finance Office (FO) Abdul Basit said so in a media statement today. He said, “The Jammu and Kashmir dispute is about the people of Kashmir and their inalienable right to self-determination. Therefore, there is no question of freezing this issue or putting this core dispute on the backburner. Doubtless, we are taking steps on the path to normalize Pakistan-India relations but reaching the final destination will inevitably be contingent upon realization of Kashmiris’ aspirations”.

He further added that sentiments of the Kashmiri nation will always be kept in mind at the time of taking any steps regarding India and Pakistan. He responded to one of the media questions declaring that Kashimiris are as much a part of Pakistan as any other province.

He further added that one of the UN Special Rapporteur has agreed with Pakistan that they will speak of Indian authorities over withdrawing forces from Jamu Kashimir and work towards public safety with human rights for the Kashimirs.

The question of Kashimiri dignity rose when India and Pakistan are talking on lines of opening up trade amongst the two countries for mutual benefit to both countries.
