According to a number of polls conducted online, majority of the population of Singapore approves of the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year, say government officials on Monday.
As per different polls conducted over the suggestions for the new fiscal years’ budget, a significant majority has expressed that they are happy with the budget proposal put forward by the current government and are convinced that it will take them to the road to success. The proposed budget has two objectives which include restructuring of the Singaporean economy for long term development and growth and promoting a diverse society.
The research was also conducted by the government’s research centre, Reach, which released their results late Sunday night and explained that a total of 868 Singaporeans were reached via telephone for their feedback on the proposed budget, amongst which about 93% showed that they were satisfied with the current years’ budget and specified that they were significantly happy with the steps taken by the government to improve the status of three groups which include the disable citizens, elderly citizen, and the low income households.
Furthermore, the program revealed that approximately 83% of the respondents agreed that the first step towards creating an inclusive society was to create jobs in the country with restructuring the economy in order to experience long term growth and reduce the growing gap between the rich and the poor.
