Speaking to the laptop distribution ceremony in Lahore on Pakistan Day, the president of the PML-N Nawaz Shairf spoke to the students and said that a major part of the independence of Pakistan is owed to Bangladesh.

He also said that we should be thankful to Banglasdeshi nation as they had also help Pakistan defeat India in the 1965 war and should never forget our brothers in Bangladesh at events like Pakistan Day and other victories which contributed towards establishment of Pakistan.

Specifying the contributions made by Bengalis he said that the captain of the fighter pilot, MM Alam, had a Bengali background who shot the Indian fighter pilots bravely in the war of 1965 and helped Pakistan in a way which can never be repaid.

He said, “I, too, watched the [Pakistan-Bangladesh] match yesterday, and was very happy at our victory.”

Adding more in respect to the event he said, “We are not distributing weapons to the students — we have given them laptops. We do not just talk about change. We are bringing the change. If more money is invested in education then it will help nurture a revolutionary youth”.

Speaking at the occasion he highlighted that the real change that our nation needs is in term of education.
