The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has informed the Supreme Court on Friday that they cannot arrest the accused Nupur Talwar as the application she submitted against the non-bailable warrant in the apex court is still pending.

CBI further said that they are aware of the whereabouts of Talwar but they have not arrested her as the decision of the plea submitted by the accused to the apex court has not been announced and therefore she cannot be arrested for that time span. They said that not arresting her was a choice the investigation bureau is making and the Supreme Court expressed confidence in the decision of CBI.

Nupur Talwar appeared before the SC on Friday after disappearing for about two days when the court issued non-bailable warrants against her. She had disappeared right after the hearing of the case two days ago and the police could not arrest her. Moreover, when she appeared before the court today, even then the police authorities choose not to arrest her at the time she was entering the courtroom and explained the court that they are aware of her whereabouts and the arrest which has yet not been made is not because she had ran off but because CBI does not plan to do so for the time being.
