People of Philippine gathered outside the embassy of China in Philippines on Friday and demonstrated a protest against the rulers of China and held banner calling them “arrogant bullies” for escalating trouble over territorial boundaries in China Sea.

Hundreds of protesters who gathered outside the embassy had banners in their hands demanding that Chinese authorities should call back their ships from the shoal in South China Sea. Both the countries have their ships facing each other at shoal for more than a month now and are not removing their ships in respect of sovereignty of their country. Protestors called out slogans against Chinese leaders. They held banners saying, “China, Stop Poaching in Philippine Waters”, “China stop bullying the Philippines”, and “Make Peace Not War”. The organizer of the protest Loida Nicholas Lewis spoke to the press and said, “Our protest is directed at the overbearing actions and stance of the government in Beijing, which behaves like an arrogant overlord, even in the homes of its neighbors.”

Just a day before the protest in Philippines, China had issued an official warning to Chinese individuals living in Philippine to be safe and requested them to stay indoors as their security was at risk. Chinese travelling agents had immediately postponed their trips to Philippines. At the same time, authorities in China have also provided extra security to the embassy of Philippine in China to ensure there is no security breach and guards are also monitoring regular passer-by individuals around the embassy.

Philippines authorities have announced that the protest outside Chinese embassy is expected to be peaceful.
