On Wednesday, the opposition leader in the National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, who is also also a central leader of the Pakistan Muslim league-Nawaz (PML-N), said that Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry should not be hearing the case of his own son.
He believed that in the history of Pakistan it was the first case in which the Chief Justice took notice against his own son for allegedly being involved in the fraud.
He said “Whether the Chief Justice’s son was given money or not and whether it was legal or illegal will be decided in the court of law,” while he was commenting on the suo motto notice that Dr. Arsalan Iftikhar have taken hundreds of millions of rupees from Malik Riaz.
According to the media reports, Malik Riaz, the owner of Bahria Town bought Arsalan Ifthikar with ‘haram’ resources on Rs300 to Rs400 million and paid his foreign visits expenses in return for influencing his father for the judicial proceedings.
“Trapping and blackmailing the son of the chief justice is a grave crime. The time has come to tell the nation about the ‘deals’ between President Asif Ali Zardari and Malik Riaz”, he added.
Nisar spoke to the media persons outside the Parliament House that the agreements entered into between Bahria Town and DHA should be brought before the Supreme Court. He said that he would also provide facts in this regard.
He demanded that the investigations should be done as to how an ordinary clerk of MES became a billionaire in a span of only few years.
