TTP kills nine police officers in Pakistan
A suicide bombing in southwestern Pakistan has resulted in the deaths of nine police officers, with 16 others sustaining injuries.
The attack occurred in Kacchi district of Balochistan province when a motorcycle drove into the back of a truck carrying officers near Dhadar city, and an explosive was possibly thrown inside.
The responsible group has not yet claimed responsibility. Since November, Pakistan has witnessed an increase in militant group attacks, beginning when the Pakistani Taliban ended a ceasefire with the government.
The TTP, a separate group, collaborates with the Afghan Taliban, which has been in power in Afghanistan for over a year, urging the TTP to escalate its attacks.
In January, a suicide bomber disguised as a policeman blew himself up, killing more than 100 mosque-goers in the northwestern city of Peshawar.
