Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) national advisor N. Ganeson met Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib on Monday to discuss matters involving the Hindu community. Mr. Ganeson was accompanied by the movement’s chairman P. Waythamoorthy and his deputy W. Sambulingam. Waythamoorthy has been on a hunger strike to force Barisan Nasional or Pakatan Rakyat to support Hindraf’s blueprint for the betterment of the deprived segment of the Indian community.
N. Ganeson has hailed the hour-long meeting as a success and is eager to get results to benefit the Hindu community. He said the Prime Minister is willing to conduct more meetings in the coming days.
“The meeting was useful and productive but the issues are far too complex that one hour is just a starting point. So, we basically established a line of communications. So, there will be discussions on the next few days,” said Mr. Ganeson.
The meeting was aimed at discussing ways to benefit the Indian community and work on issues stated in Hindraf’s blueprint. Although no conclusive decisions were made, Mr. Ganeson was hopeful that the first meeting will open many doors for long-term development of the community.
“We would like an endorsement of the blueprint to be the final (outcome of the discussions). The issues are far more complex to be discussed within an hour. Hopefully, we will move on forward,” said Mr. Ganeson.
