Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Patron-In-Chief of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) welcomed the Pakistan Street Children Football team to his Bilawal House this Tuesday and personally congratulated each player for displaying brilliant performance at Street Child World Cup (SCWC) in Brazil. He announced a cash reward of Rs100,000 for each player.

The young Pakistani players, belonging to underprivileged fragment of society, secured the bronze medal at the Street Child World Cup 2014 in Rio de Janeiro and returned home earlier this Tuesday. The players who rose from the streets of slum areas to clinch third position in the event defeating Indians by 13 goals landed at the city’s Jinnah International Airport. A large number of people including politicians form different political parties welcomed the team at the airport and showered the young players with rose petals. Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad felicitated the team for their great performances in the world cup.

Earlier, the footballers visited the Sindh Assembly, where members of the parliament had best wishes for the players and announced give Rs 2 million for the team. Bilawal appreciated Azad Foundation which led the Pakistani team to World Cup for its cooperation to Peoples Government of Sindh in implementing the Sindh Child Act, Juvenile Justice Ordinance, and Sindh Child Protection Authority Act in the province.
