This Monday, the intelligence agencies of India have informed that there can be an attempt to hijack Air India’s flight to Kabul in Afghanistan. The intelligence agencies have highlighted Air India’s flight from Delhi to Kabul.

“Security around all the airports has been strengthened and we have taken all the measures that are required in the wake of the alert from intelligence agencies,” official sources said, Press Trust of India reported. The increased security of airports include extra checking of the passengers as well as an additional check of the baggage once the boarding is completed. The airport staff is also brought under scrutiny. An official at the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) control room informed; “All airports are on red alert. Messages have been sent out to all agencies, including airports and National Security Guards.”

An AI official, according to DNA, informed that the state-owned airline Air India had received many such alerts in the past as well and that the airline knew exactly how to handle these kinds of situation. “We keep getting such threats, for which our processes are streamlined. All agencies involved are reviewing the security arrangement,” he said.
