Congress leader, Sonia Gandhi, has once again been admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for a minor procedure following her discharge two days ago after treatment for fever, dehydration and a shoulder injury. Vice Chairman of the hospital, Dr S P Byotra, mentioned in a statement that “Mrs Sonia Gandhi has been admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for a minor treatment procedure as per previous plan. She is doing well and undergoing physiotherapy and rehabilitation.”
Whereas, the hospital mentioned in a bulletin that she was admitted yesterday “as planned at the time of her discharge from the hospital” on August 14. Earlier, the Congress president stayed at the hospital for 11-days during which she had a surgery. The hospital has stated that “she is likely to stay at the hospital for a couple of days” adding that “at the time of her discharge from the hospital last week, doctors had said that she was likely to revisit the hospital for further evaluation of her condition. So, she is here for that.”
Whereas on the other hand, party sources confirm that she will be at the hospital for the next couple of days at least. First admitted to the hospital on August 3, Mrs Gandhi had fallen ill during a roadshow in Varanasi. When she was discharged last time, Chairman of Board of Management of the hospital, D S Rana, had mentioned that “Mrs Gandhi is likely to visit the hospital for further evaluation of her condition in the coming week.”
