“I lost my daughter, I lost my home, I lost my marriage, I lost everything”, were the words of the crying mother of Chanel Costa outside the Glebe Coroner Court Monday morning.

The mother of the four-year-old who died of hospital staff negligence could not control her emotions and cried hysterically in front of the media on Monday begging the parents of other children to never depend on hospital management if there is ever need of arranging for taking their kids to another hospital but do it themselves before it’s too late. Angela Costa lost the life of her daughter in a Sydney Hospital waiting for the hospital management to arrange for a vehicle to take her daughter to a specialized doctor in another hospital.

The father, Stephen Costa, and the mother of Chanel could not control their anger and dissatisfaction of the system when the court declared that there was no medical delay in the treatment of the child. The parents urged the other parents of Australia to never depend on the emergency wards and departments of any hospital and take their child directly to a children’s hospital whenever the need arises before they also end up regretting their decision like them.

Mr. Costa said, “Save yourself six or seven hours of politics. For no reason, our daughter may still be here today had we taken that decision.”
