On Saturday, March 12, 2011, officers from 53 Division arrested a man in connection with an extortion investigation.

It is alleged that:

– the accused is the owner and operator of a general contracting company called Anthony Sayers Custom Builder and Designer,

– on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, a woman hired the accused to complete renovations at her home,

– the accused provided substandard work, criminally harassed and extorted the woman.

Barrington Anthony Sayers, 41, of Toronto, also known as Anthony Sayers, has been charged with:

1) two counts of Criminal Harassment,
2) Attempt Fraud Under,
3) Extortion.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at College Park, on Monday, March 28, 2011, room 505, at 10 a.m.

Police believe there may be more victims.
