A man, a woman, a mean streak when drinking, and a wood chipper; this seems like a story from one of those supermarket tabloids like the National Enquirer.

38-year-old Trevor Bobocel of Wandering River, Alta. has been charged with second-degree murder and indignity to a body after police located what they believe are human remains in a rural area near Lac La Biche. They are working under the assumption these remains are his common-law partner, 34-year-old mother-of-five Roxanne Bigelow but a forensic analysis will be done to confirm this.

The Toronto Sun reported Bigelow’s aunt has alleged that Bobocel fed Bigelow’s body through a wood chipper. The police are now investigating this possibility.

Police were first called in about a burning car. Bobocel was arrested at the scene and further investigation of this incident led to to the discover of the human remains.

CTV has said the couple were known to have had a troubled relationship and that the police have been called to the home before.

Bobocel made a court appearance this past Monday and is being held over to March 28th while he apparently seeks legal counsel.
