62 year old man George Wass murdered on the streets of Toronto

On Friday, March 18, 2011, police issued a news release regarding five separate assault investigations.

It is reported that:

– between Thursday, March 17, 2011 and Friday, March 18, 2011, a 62-year-old man was in the Queen Street West/Jameson Avenue area,

– the same man from the previous assaults approached the victim,

– the suspect assaulted the victim,

– the suspect then fled the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital.

On Monday, January 21, 2011, the victim collapsed at home. He was taken to hospital and later died.

The victim has been identified as George Wass, 62, of Toronto.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Tuesday, March 22, 2011.
