On Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at 4:30 p.m., a man was waiting in a dinner line at the Calgary Remand Centre, when he was assaulted by two other men.
The attackers punched and kicked the victim. There were no weapons used in the assault.
Correctional Peace Officers were able to stop the assault, but the victim suffered serious injuries.
An investigation was conducted by the CPS Serious Habitual Offender Program (SHOP), with the assistance of the CPS Homicide Unit and the Calgary Remand Centre.
In February 2010, police issued a warrant for NGUYEN, charging him with aggravated assault. He had evaded capture until last week.
