Members working out of the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested a Markham man wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred yesterday in the City of Vaughan.

On Thursday, March 24, 2011, at approximately 4:30 p.m., York Regional Police were called to the parking lot of an industrial complex located at 8110 Keele Street in the City of Vaughan. Upon attending the address, police discovered a 51-year-old Brampton man inside his vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injurieswhere he remains in critical condition.

The male suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. Following a timely investigation, at approximately 7:45 p.m. York Regional Police located and arrested the suspect at his residence in Markham.

Investigators believe they have recovered the weapon used in the offence after locating a small, loaded handgun from a dumpster in an industrial area of Markham.

Attempted Murder

Mr. Galsi has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket sometime today
