On March 25th, 2011 the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP arrested a Duncan male at his residence for five counts of sexual assault. The male, 51 year old Campbell Crichton was a practicing physiotherapist at Cowichan Physiotherapy at the time the offenses allegedly occurred. The assaults occurred to five different woman, all clients dating back from 1996 through to June of 2009 and consisted of various forms of inappropriate touching while receiving physiotherapy treatments.

It took a considerable amount of time for some of the five victims to gain the courage to come forward and report the incidents to police. As victims came forward it assisted police in their investigation which lead to the submission of a report to Crown Counsel.

Mr. Crichton has been released on a number of conditions in relation to the sex assault charges pending his next court date in Duncan, BC.

Police believe that there may be others in the community that may have information that is relevant to this investigation.
