On Monday, March 28, 2011, the Toronto Police Service investigated a report of a man defrauding seniors in the areas of Islington Avenue/Bering Avenue and Avenue Road/Lawrence Avenue West.

It is alleged that:

– a man approached elderly homeowners and told them that their home was in need of repair, or that he had done some residential repair work for them in the past,

– he asked for an advance payment to buy supplies, and said he would return the next day to complete the work,

– he would then return the next day, and ask for more money, but did not do any work.

On Monday, March 28, Brian Bingley, 50, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:

– two counts of Fraud Under,
– Revocation of Parole,
– two counts of Fraud Under,
– Theft Under.
