Investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested a young offender, in regards to the stabbing of a student at Judith Nyman Secondary School.

On Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Peel Police responded to Judith Nyman Secondary School regarding a complaint of a student being stabbed. On arrival, officers located a youth with obvious signs of trauma. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and later released.

On Wednesday, April 20, 2011, a 14 year-old young offender was arrested and charged in relation to this incident. The youth faces charges of Assault with a Weapon, Aggravated Assault and Breach of Recognizance.

Due to the age of the youth, the name cannot be released, as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
