Toronto police bust 80 people for guns and drugs

The Toronto Drug Squad began an investigation on April 15, 2011, which concluded on Wednesday, June 2, 2011, with the execution of 12 search warrants. The warrants were executed with the assistance of the Gun and Gang Task Force, TAVIS, and Divisional units.

It is alleged that:

– a criminal gang was operating in the Main Street/Danforth Avenue area,

– 12 search warrants were executed within Toronto, during which the following was seized:

– a .22 calibre Tansoglio Giuseppe semi-automatic handgun loaded with four rounds
– a 9mm, over capacity, magazine
– two bulletproof vests
– two vehicles and $16,530 cash
– Heroin: 54.30 grams
– Crack cocaine: 193.80 grams
– Morphine: .38 gram
– Marijuana: 66.94 grams

Nicholas Gillingham, 26, of Toronto, was charged with:
1) eight counts of Fail to Comply Undertaking Given to OIC
2) seven counts of Traffic in Heroin
3) six counts of Possession of Proceeds of Crime

Bryson Murle, 22, of Toronto, was charged with:
1) two counts of Fail to Comply Probation
2) eight counts of Fail to Comply Recognizance
3) Careless Storage of Ammunition
4) two counts of Traffic in Heroin
5) two counts of Possession of Proceeds of Crime
6) three counts of Possession for the Purpose Cocaine
7) three counts of Possession of Proceeds of Crime
8) Possession for the Purpose Heroin

Perris Ridley, 24, of Toronto, was charged with:
1) Possession for the Purpose Cocaine
2) Possession for the Purpose Marijuana (under)
3) Possession for the Purpose Controlled Substance
4) two counts of Possession of Proceeds of Crime

Christopher Spencer, 25, of Mississauga, was charged with:
1) Possession for the Purpose Cocaine
2) Possession for the Purpose Controlled Substance
3) Possession of Proceeds of Crime
4) Possession for the Purpose Marijuana (under)
5) Possession for the Purpose Controlled Substance

Emery McNichols, 22, of Toronto, was charged with:
1) Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted firearm with Ammunition
2) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
3) Firearm Careless Storage
4) Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
5) Acquire Firearm without Firearm Acquisition Certificate
6) Possession of a Firearm Obtained by the Commission of an Offence
7) Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
8) Fail to Comply Probation

Cory Eagle, 24, of Toronto, was charged with:
1) Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device
2) Careless Storage Ammunition
3) Possession of Proceeds of Crime

Cleayon Thom, 26, of Toronto, was charged with:
1) seven counts of Possession of Proceeds of Crime
2) six counts of Traffic in Heroin
3) two counts of Possession for the Purpose Marijuana (Under)

Hilal Merghani, 23, of Toronto, was charged with:
1) Possession for the Purpose Cocaine
2) Possession for the Purpose Marijuana (Under)
3) Possession of Proceeds of Crime
4) Conditional Sentence Order Breach
