Just after 3:00 a.m. today, Friday June 3, 2011 the Edmonton Police Service received several calls reporting shots fired in the area of 86 Street and 106A Avenue.
Downtown patrol officers arrived at the scene in less than three minutes and found the body of a male lying in an alley with fatal injuries.
Homicide detectives have been called in to investigate. Witnesses are being interviewed and police are going door-to-door looking for anyone else with information.
Autopsy is scheduled for Monday afternoon.
