Road rage leads to arrest of Hamilton man Christopher Kee

The Hamilton Police Service (HPS) has arrested and charged a 22 yr. old man after he allegedly used a gun in a road rage incident.

On Wednesday, June 8th, 2011 at approximately 3:00 p.m., it is alleged that a white Ford Fusion was driving along Stirton St. in Hamilton when it nearly collided with a walking pedestrian. After the pedestrian yelled at the car the passenger, later identified as Christopher KEE, exited the car and exposed a black handgun in the waistband of his shorts. KEE then worked the slide of the gun. KEE got back in the car and it drove away. Hamilton Police were called and a description of the vehicle and suspect was provided by the victim.

Later, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the vehicle was located parked and empty in front of a home on Barton St. E. near Balmoral Ave., Hamilton. Officers watched as KEE and another female exited a home and got into the parked suspect vehicle. The vehicle was followed and members of the HPS Emergency Response Unit stopped the vehicle and arrested the two occupants.

A search warrant was obtained for the home on Barton St. E. near Balmoral Ave. At approximately 5:00 p.m., the warrant was executed and found inside the home were two black air pistols, more specifically, one with a sliding rack, consistent with that described by the pedestrian victim. Police also seized evidence that linked KEE to a break and enter that happened at a Sports Complex on Seaman St. in Stoney Creek on May 31st, 2011 where an ATM machine was targeted and cash was stolen.

KEE is expected to appear for a bail hearing today.
