The Hamilton Police Service is investigating a shooting incident that happened in Hamilton’s East End yesterday and is asking witnesses to contact the Division Two Detective office.

On Wednesday, June 8th, 2011 at approximately 5:00 p.m., Hamilton Police were called to investigate a shooting incident that had just occurred in the housing complex at 2 Oriole Cres. Hamilton.

On arrival police and EMS located the victim, a 38 yr. old North York man, lying on the ground near unit #1. The victim was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment. He is expected to undergo surgery today. His injuries are considered to be non-life threatening.

At this time Hamilton Police have no suspect information. Officers will be back in the neighbourhood today canvassing for witnesses. Investigators do not believe this to be a random incident.
