Sudbury mourns the death of two miners killed at Vale Stobie Mine

The Greater Sudbury Police Service and the Ministry of Labour are investigating a Mining Fatality which occurred at the Vale Stobie Mine, 3000-foot level, on June 8th 2011 at approximately 10:30 p.m.

Both Jason Chenier (35 yrs) and Jordan Fram (26yrs) were fatally injured and were pronounced at the scene.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages and at this time is being lead by the Criminal Investigations Division of Greater Sudbury Police. Investigating along with Greater Sudbury Police are representatives from the Ministry of Labour, Vale and Steelworkers Union 6500.

The focus of the investigation will be to determine how this tragic incident unfolded.
