Apparently Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers negotiated all weekend but failed to arrive at any resolution. As a consequence, CUPW has posted a new round of strikes for Monday, June 13 and called a press conference for 10am Monday at 377 Bank Street (corner of Lewis/James), Ottawa, 1st floor. CUPW National President and Chief Negotiator Denis Lemelin and members of the Negotiating Committee will be on hand to speak with the media. There are no new posting on the Canada Post web site as of this writing.
The CUPW web site has announced that a 24 hour work stoppage will start tonight at 10pm EDT and last all day Monday. Tonight, Red Deer goes back to work after its 48 hour walk-out.
