Halifax woman sexually assaulted in Shubie Park

The HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit is investigating a sexual assault that occurred last night in Dartmouth.

At approximately 9 p.m., a 19-year-old woman was jogging in Shubie Park near a field and bridge. She passed a man who was walking in the opposite direction and was grabbed from behind, forced into the woods and sexually assaulted. The suspect is described as a white man, 19-25 years-old, 5’6”, thin build with short dark hair and chin strap facial hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a white t-shirt, black shoes and jeans.
