Woman sexually assaulted in a Hamilton play ground

The Hamilton Police Service arrested and charged a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in the playground at a local townhouse complex. Police believe there may be other victims of assaults in the area who have not reported them to police.

On Saturday, June 11th, 2011 at approximately 3:00 a.m., a woman was walking home across the playground located at 605 Stone Church Rd. E. The woman was approached by a male who grabbed her and sexually assaulted her. The victim struggled with the suspect. The victim saw a male acquaintance and waved to him for assistance and this prompted the suspect to flee the area.

Hamilton Police were called to investigate and were alerted to a possible address where the suspect fled. The suspect was found at this home and at approximately 4:30 a.m., he was arrested without incident. He was held for a bail hearing.
