During the investigation, police seized a significant amount of cash and cannabis marihuana from 1398 St. Margaret’s Bay Road in Lakeside, Nova Scotia.
On June 12, 2011, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Halifax District RCMP received a call about a Break and Enter that resulted in a shooting at a residence in Lakeside. They also received information that the victim lived at the residence.
Two males wearing masks broke into a residence in the 1300 block of St. Margaret’s Bay Road. One of them got into a fight with one of the residents of the home. During the altercation, shots were fired by another resident of the home. When police arrived, they found the victim, a 20-year-old male, deceased. A 52-year old suspect was taken into custody. He has since been released pending consultation with crown prosecutors. Charges are pending.
Police are now trying to identify those responsible for the Break and Enter. Police are asking anyone with information about this or any other incident to come forward.
