A tragic rush hour motor vehicle collision has claimed three lives and left a fourth person clinging to life in hospital tonight.

Around 6 p.m., a red Toyota Corolla heading south on Granville Street crashed into the back end of a transit bus that was slowing to pick up passengers near Nanton and Granville Street.

Witnesses reported seeing the car travelling at a high rate of speed and weaving through traffic shortly before the collision.

According to several witnesses, Good Samaritans ran to the aid of the victims with fire extinguishers after seeing flames in the car.
