On June 7th Richmond RCMP responded to a dispute in an apartment complex. Officers approached the suite in question & knocked on the door at which time one shot was fired through the wall, narrowly missing a police officer. The bullet then traveled through another wall into a neighboring suite. Cpl. Turley said “We are extremely fortunate that no one was injured or killed.”
A perimeter was established & the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team & Crisis Negotiators came to assist. Police determined that a male with a handgun was inside the suite & that a female was with him. Five and a half hours later the male & female emerged from the suite uninjured. The male was taken into custody while the female was received by investigators.
