Police charge Toronto man Ramalingam Abayaharan with sexual assault

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in an ongoing sexual assault investigation.

It is alleged:

– On Friday, June 10, 2011, a man attended a youth shelter and offered a 17-year-old girl a job,

– he then took the girl to his business, gave her alcohol and drugs, and sexually assaulted her.

Ramalingam Abayaharan, 53, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) Sexual Exploitation,
2) Sexual Assault.

Police believe there are other victims.

He is described as brown, 5’7", 150 lbs., with short, black, thinning hair, a long face and a weak chin. He is known as "Abby" and targets girls living in youth shelters, specifically those looking for employment.
