Woodbridge man Salman Farooq Sheikh charged for identity theft fraud

On Tuesday, June 28, 2011, police re-arrested a man in connection with an ongoing fraud investigation.

It is further alleged that:

– the accused committed identity theft and credit card fraud.

Salman Farooq Sheikh, also known as Salman Farooq, 35, of Woodbridge, has been charged with:

1) Identity theft,
2) Possession of property obtained by crime,
3) nine counts of Fraud under,
4) four counts of Possess credit card obtained by crime,
5) four counts of Use credit card obtained by crime,
6) four counts of Fraudulently possess credit card data,
7) four counts of Fraudulently use credit card data,
8) Fail to comply with recognizance.

Police believe there are other victims.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at 9 a.m.
