On Friday, July 1, 2011, the City of Toronto Parks and Recreation, Scarborough District, will be hosting it’s 44th annual Scarborough Canada Day Parade.

Road Closures: 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

– Brimley Road from Progress Avenue to Ellesmere Road,
– Omni Drive from Brimley Road to Borough Drive

Road Closures 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

– Brimley Road from Progress Avenue to Lawrence Avenue East.

Parade Route: starting at 4 p.m.

Formation Area:

Brimley Road (from Progress Avenue to Ellesmere Road) southbound Brimley Road (Full Road)

Dispersal:

Brimley Road, north of Lawrence Avenue East (at Thompson Memorial Park)

The T.T.C. may experience some minor delays during this event.

Motorists are advised to consider using alternate routes during road closures.

The event will proceed regardless of weather conditions.

The Toronto Police Service would like to remind members of the public that recent changes to Ontario’s liquor laws do not make it legal for alcoholic beverages to be consumed in public places or unlicensed establishments.
