Toronto will celebrate Pride Week with a festival in the Church/Wellesley community. The road closure for this event will begin at 6 p.m., on Friday, July 1, 2011 and finish at 7 a.m., on Monday, July 4, 2011.

At 6 p.m., on Friday July 1, 2011, Church Street will be fully closed to all vehicular traffic from the north side of Carlton Street to the south side of Hayden Street and Wellesley Street will be closed from the east side of Yonge Street to Jarvis Street.

When the full road closure is in effect, TTC buses will not have access to Wellesley Subway station. All buses will be re-routed.

Vehicles in the area may experience traffic delays due to this event.

This event will proceed regardless of weather conditions.

The Toronto Police Service would like to remind members of the public that recent changes to Ontario’s liquor laws do not make it legal for alcoholic beverages to be consumed in public places or unlicensed establishments.
