On Saturday, July 2, 2011, Pride Toronto hosts the annual Dyke March.

Parade organizers are anticipating 20,000 participants to attend this event, which will proceed regardless of weather conditions.

At 1 p.m., the following roads will be fully closed for the parade:

– Bloor Street, from Bay Street to Jarvis Street,
– Church Street, from Yonge Street to Hayden Street,
– Carlton Street, from Bay Street to Jarvis Street,
– Yonge Street, from Davenport Road to Gerrard Street.

The Dyke March will start at 2 p.m., and will proceed along the following route:

Start: Bloor Street East and Church Street,
West: Bloor Street East,
South: Yonge Street,
End: Yonge Street and Carlton Street.

Vehicles in the area can expect delays due to this event.

The Toronto Police Service would like to remind members of the public that recent changes to Ontario’s liquor laws do not make it legal for alcoholic beverages to be consumed in public places or unlicensed establishments.
