Vaughan police investigate the targeting killing of Alexander Kucovic

On Saturday, July 2, 2011, at approximately 10:30 p.m. York Regional Police responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding a shooting in the area of Grandvista Crescent and Via Campanile in the City of Vaughan. Officers arrived on scene and located a 37-year-old male victim suffering from gunshot wounds on the road, in the middle of Grandvista Crescent. The victim was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Alexander KUCOVIC, 37, of Vaughan.

The York Regional Police Homicide Unit is investigating and presently do not have anyone in custody for this murder. Investigators believe that the victim was targeted.

Investigators want to speak with anyone who was in the area of Grandvista Crescent and Via Campanile in the evening hours of Saturday, July 2, 2011
