The Durham Regional Police are investigating after a body was discovered near a rural road in Uxbridge Township last night.

On Friday, July 8, 2011 in the evening hours, a property owner walking on Concession Road #8 in Uxbridge Township discovered the body between Wagg Road and Reid Road.

Police were notified and members from the North Division Criminal Investigations Bureau, the Homicide Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit responded and are currently investigating.

The deceased has not yet been identified and the incident is being investigated as a suspicious death at this point. It is believed to be a female and a post mortem examination has been scheduled for later today. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
