Family mourns as infant drowns in family pool, Moncton, N.B

On July 16, 2011, at approximately 5:30 p.m., members of the Codiac Regional RCMP and other emergency responders attended a residence in the area of Shediac Road, in Moncton, N.B. for a report of a drowning incident.

An 17-month-old infant was found unresponsive from an apparent drowning in a family pool. Rescue crews performed CPR, but were unable to revive the infant.

The matter is under investigation at this time, in order to determine what happened, however police say that foul play is not suspected. An autopsy will be performed to determine the infant’s exact cause of death.
