The Edmonton Medical Examiner has determined the manner of death of a 25-year-old man Friday in the area of 112 Avenue and 124 Street as a homicide.
The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Ahmed Ismail-Sheikh.
Police would like to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything unusual in that area between 9:00 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2011 and 2:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2011.
The matter remains under investigation.
Background
West Division members were called to the area to assist EMS. Upon arrival at scene they found an unconscious male suffering from injuries they believe happened as a result of some sort of an altercation. The 25-year-old male victim was transported to hospital where he later died.
